Not everyone is in the same situation as me. I can't really afford such an expensive router, and I have the know-how to go down the DIY route. That's might not be the case for everyone else however.
crucibles are efficient and effective... every damn time... my imsai 8088 kit build with a soldering iron proved that decades ago..

my Quotom is almost deployable - waiting for my idiot brain to get pfsesnse under my fingers... an all-in-one router is a convenience - at a price....

@RMerlin Ive used Asuswrt_Merlin so long I forgot what the ROG theme even looked like. Not going to lie I kinda hate it lol. I remember really liking it when I first got it but the simplicity of the other theme I’ve gotten so used to.

I think Game Radar is the only thing I really miss from the main ASUS theme.

Oh neat the main theme has port information or did it always and I’m forgetting.

The things that I have noted so far on this test build:
Skynet addon/script the banMalware update get errors do not know if it is firmware related will check more during the day here.
OVPN server 2 is missing from the VPN status page.
And the same kernel messages as some already posted.
UiDivstats & Skynet are both broken with 388 so far as I can see.

Hi, after upgrading to alpha1 I see this process consuming CPU:

What is it ? It is generating long-running spikes like :
1665660115867.png

And they are continuous.

Similar, I see repeating this error:

For different PIDs, but it is flooding the log.

I don't have too much will to do reset as the router is hosting many services ...

Hmmm, if I read that fatal signal correctly, the command “awk” is having a problem. This command is used by many shell scripts. Im not at my routers (they are on a moving van between NY State and California… but I believe awk is part of BusyBox.

One idea for the brave seeing this problem (and using scripts that require Entware) is to try to install the Entware version of awk.

I believe it is called gawk. GNU version of awk.

Unfortunately I am not anywhere near one of my routers but this would be the first thing I would try before the busybox version gets corrected.

I’ll try this. Entware doesn’t replace the built in tools only disables them well being used by entware version. Learned this when I updated busybox one time using entware lol

Didn’t help. Tried installing busybox entware and then also gawk.

edit: installing gawk doesn’t help either.

Ahh, I see AWK is reason in my case too.

Did you try:

opkg install gawk

?
Not being in front of my router, I checked the opkg package list. The GNU version is listed at least on the opkg package list.

Yes tried gawk as well. It’s available but doesn’t fix the issue.

Done and installed. Do I need to do some other steps to enable and replace busybox one?

Don’t replace busybox with entware it might not use some of Rmerlins security patches and is potentially risky.

If you already tried this should remove the entware of busybox.

opkg remove busybox --force-removal-of-essential-packages

I installed gawk only. It is automatically replacing awk from busybox or I need to modify scripts to use gawk instead of awk.
Sorry, I am a greenhorn in this stuff on linux
