Diversion 5.4 is now available

What's new

  • The Diversion menu d, 1 now has options to temporarily disable its services for a set time. A cron job will auto-re-enable the services or a reboot of the router would do the same.
  • Adds the following Entware mirrors to the shared Diversion whitelist: mirrors.bfsu.edu.cn, mirrors.cernet.edu.cn, mirrors.cqupt.edu.cn, mirrors.nju.edu.cn. These were added to amtm in a previous release.
  • The follow the Dnsmasq log file f option now allows to customize the log file colors. Thanks to @zitev for the suggestion.

And so have many other devs by releasing new firmware and adding support for it.
We’ve all been on nails for the last weeks.

Yes, the biggest issue remaining is that charts in add-ons still don't work, but we knew that going in.

Thanks! Since I've figured out how to do the custom list, using a scam, phishing, malware and Steve Black's list (773,703 Blocked Domains), I am more than pleased with Diversion. 5.2 upgrade with just a click...How Easy Was That!

@thelonelycoder

Which version control are you using for your scripts? Diversion 5.1.1 libraries with 5.1.3 script seemed to have address my dnsmasq issue fully. So I am afraid now to move to any other version ...

It seems you've changed a lot of comments in various places between 5.1.1 and 5.1.3, so it's a large volume of differences there.

I’m using a local only git copy.
Glad to hear it solved your issue.

When you have a less (or least?) busy moment, could you glance briefly at the differences in the supporting libraries between versions 5.1.1 and 5.1.3 ? Something might ring a bell regarding that dnsmasq issue that I was having with the custom DNS instance.

No rush, but just out of curiosity. It may be something that's good to double check.

I apologize for going right to you. I cannot find the new topic icon for the life of me. I'd appreciate anyone's help. I am dead in the water.

Asus AC3100, right from default settings. 192.168.50.1 is the IP. DNS1 is set to the same. No ads are blocked after clearing the browser cache (Opera and Edge). I am testing on:

speedtest.net
https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock

It's late, I am tired, and my eyes are killing me.....this is not fun.

thanks all

nslookup says my Windows DNS is 192.168.50.1

An online DNS server check says my DNS is
AMANAHA-NEW - Amanah Tech Inc.104.245.144.50
IFNL-AS149.22.82.225

Nothing that affects Dnsmasq.

Nothing that affects Dnsmasq.

Thanks for checking! There gotta be some unfortunate shift in some memory addresses so things become screwy, but only intermittently!

I will keep checking newer Diversion versions from time to time, always ready to roll back to 5.1.1 - in case the issue resolves itself ...

It appears that Diversion blocks images necessary for search results on my Roku devices (effectively making search function unusable).

When browsing search results outside of my network I can see the images, but once connected to my Asus/Merlin router they are blank.

I have added 'images.sr.roku.com' to my allow list and processed it, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

It does go down occasionally for updates. Try again later.

There's actually a banner on that page now - "upgrading", so it looks like the actual server is being upgraded rather than just the files there.
