New Around Here
Hi all,

I want to try and use the TomatoUSB firmware on my RT-AC68U. According to the instructions, to install it, you need to download and install the ASUS RT-AC68U Utility. Unfortunately, it seems that Asus has pulled the utility from their support site (or I'm too dumb to find it).
I don't have the CD/DVD that came with the router anymore, since I have the habit of throwing away any CD/DVD's and paper manuals and relying on download to get the latest versions.

Could anyone point me to a download location for the utility or send it to me?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a copy that was snagged before Asus pulled the files.

As an alternative, you can use pretty much any Asus restore utility as they are all TFTP based (that I know of). I used my old RT-N16 restore utility to flash my TMobile TM1900 (RT-AC68U).

You can also just use your Windows TFTP client (set file type to binary and 'PUT' the file to the router's address once set to recovery mode). You can also just download TFTP.exe and select the file to send. It will send once the router is detected in recovery mode. Just make sure to wait about 5 to 10 minutes (or more) once you send a firmware to the router to make sure it has enough time to finish flashing.

Thanks, Engineer! I've succesfully flashed the router. Now let's see if i can get it configured to my liking. :)

Thank you Hoowsan. I found and used those instructions to flash my router. For me it didn't work when I had my NIC set to DHCP. It would fail after uploading the image. I think it went wrong because the network connection is interrupted momentarily after flashing. When the computer is set to DHCP, it fails to get an IP address and the flash process fails. When the computer was set to a fixed IP it worked like a charm.

You should always have to use a static IP as the DHCP service will not be working when doing recovery.
