Has anyone configured DynamicDNS using IONOS? I am following their instructions and when I get to the configuration of the router, it is different.
I am using a RT-AX88U Pro with the latest ASUS-Merlin.
IONOS states:

Configuring a Device

To configure your device for Dynamic DNS:

  • Log in to the administration interface of your device.
  • Navigate to the Dynamisc DNS / DDNS section.
  • In the provider selection for the DDNS service, select the setting for Custom.
  • You will now be shown various input fields for the configuration of the DDNS service. Among them there should also be a field for entering a URL.
    • Enter the full URL that you received when you activated the IONOS DDNS service.
    • Leave the other fields blank, as the corresponding information is not required in this case. If the fields are mandatory, you can fill them in as you wish.
  • Complete the setup by enabling Dynamic DNS / DDNS.

In the router config, there is no place for a URL that is required by IONOS.

Any help is appreciated.

When you use the Custom DDNS option you need to create your own /jffs/scripts/ddns-start script - pretty sure this is mentioned on the DDNS page.
See: https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/wiki/DDNS-services
*Currently I'm using the non-Merlin firmware with DynV6 DDNS on the router which is interesting.

Unfortunatly if you reboot the router it overwrites the inadyn.conf file, and thanks to the way BT (UK) internet works, it's not caught when my IPv6 addr changes, but the IPv4 doesn't - so I've rolled back to Merlin and my old script that works...
