Just as a reminder - MS does make VM's available for Browser Testing - they're good for 90 days, and VirtualBox, VMWare (Workstation and Fusion), along with Parallels are supported.

This is all legit - like I said, it's for Browser Testing, but it's a way to test drive without having to upgrade a current install (and perhaps having some regret afterwords).

Windows 10 tech preview was available for months prior to release, as well. It ran okay in VM but I'm sure they've probably disabled it now that release is out.
