If i use 100% tx. Will it affect performance? Or the life of the router?

In my experience, performance will be affected (between 50 and 80 percent works best).

The life of the router? Depends on how long you want it to last and the quality of the sample you received. I would say not worth worrying about though.

Is there any difference in performance on 80% and 1%? Is performance chance of 80% to 100% ? What is the difference on speed? Btw. Is the heat change? Is it so significant? Thx so much.

I did not try to see what the firmware and hardware reacted to with regards to the gui's power level indicator.

I just moved the setting off of the default (70%) by 5% until I got better results. In one environment that was at lower than defaults and in the other environment it was at higher than defaults.

I did try 100% though and it did negatively affect the performance for both environments I tested in.

If the speed decrease not that significant and the heat is not a prob on ac3200 then , i will use 100% cuz why not. And i wanna know if heat gonna be probs cuz ac3200 have a LOT of heatsink

Can u see the performance difference between 80% and 100%? Thx and heat also :) . i cant test cuz not home. But if u can test. Its gonna be awesome :)

Yes, as I stated the performance at 100% was worse than at default (or 80% or lower).

The heat issue has never been one for me on any Asus router I've used. I did not see it be a problem even when I tested at 100% either (for over an hour, it was lunch time).

But with worse. I mean it still can get to gigabit speed or 500 mbit? 500mbit is fine though. :) . yea. Heat will not be an issue. Cuz the heatsink are very very huge. Lol

ac68u + 3 TPlink 2409a antennas
(one 2.4g wavelength distance between an antennas to prevent interference)

I made speedtest at 5ghz band:

10m from router in direct visibility without any barrier:

TX POWER %:_______RSSI:______NOICE:______SPEED:____MCS:

100_____________-51_________-95_______878 MB/S_____7

75______________-54_________-95_______702 MB/S_____5

50______________-56_________-95______ 702 MB/S______5

10m from router in direct visibility with a closed door as a barrier:

TX POWER %:_______RSSI:______NOICE:______SPEED:____MCS:

100_____________-56_________-95_______585 MB/S_____7

75______________-58_________-95_______527 MB/S______5

50______________-60_________-95_______527 MB/S______5

And: Do not forget the regulations in your region! You should stay around the allowed channels and power settings - of course you can somehow pump up the volume but I would not go to 100% (my suggestion is to stay around 70% max. - as the default is).

so theres no decrease in performance? wow.... btw is it AC or N

yea, my country is like sucks. even they didnt allowed pirating torrent. those who did didnt get any charges or even warning. and about channels. like my country didnt allow to use low 5 ghz channel such 36 but i do see there are MANY of the wifi channel 36 or low 5ghz channels on malls. and didnt even get closed or warning. so the police here are kinda crap lol... so yeah...

btw it might be Mbit . if u see it from link speed when holding alt/option and clicking the mac wifi .. :)

hey . btw is there difference on speed when using the stock antenna? and can u please if have time to see 50% 75% and 100% 5ghz and/or 2.4ghz band? its gonna be useful :) please kindly do it if u have time. dont do it if u didnt have time :) thx
Yes speed is much different, especially at distance more than 3m, and much better coverage.

At 2.4 ghz with this antennas I got 5-6 times better coverage.

ok. I can test 2.4ghz

So. If heat didnt be probs. I will just crank it up to 100%. And will happily have best coverage ever with best speeds. Lol. And my neighborhood is empty (2.4 and 5) so its like im alone here. So CRANK UP. lol

@alessandro893 and it cuz the antenna u use is for 2.4 only. 5 will be kinda bad cuz the antenna not support it. And 2.4 will get better cuz its directional antenna. Not omni directional antenna thats gonna spread
