Big success updating my RT-N66U from Merlin 374.35_4-sdk5 to John's latest. Used the nvram transfer utility to save/restore settings. Day #2 and all seems well. Thanks so much for making these available.

I looked several times for the '@UpgradeMatrix.txt' mentioned in post #1. Was this removed or renamed?

Now to fix the router power button. For several years I've used a long stick wedged between the button and the upper shelf (wall mounted router).

@john9527 You've missed it out from the latest release's download directories. As well as pia_openvpn_options.zip and @RT-AC68U 'E' build.....

@bk_think In the meantime just look in the previous release's download directory.

Don't have the foggiest idea o_O Best guess is that there is a bad DNS entry somewhere.
nvram set stubby_ipv6=2 does what? What do those values?
That's just a counter of the number of ipv6 servers that are configured (same for stubby_ipv4 for ipv4). It's really just a flag telling the code it should check for valid ipv4 or ipv6 server addresses when generating the yml file.

Copied them over (except for the PIA file).....thanks for letting me know.
While still in the code, I doubt anyone besides me actually used the PIA option :) (and the keys in the file are out of date).
And I don't use it anymore since PIA implemented the CGM ciphers.

Whoops, if I read the matrix correctly I should have used the Restoration Tool instead of the GUI. I unplugged everything and connected directly, reset before/after, clean restored nvram. Firmware update itself took <10min. All seems OK and running smoothly.

No, you're OK coming from 374.35...restoration tool is necessary 380 and above.

Hi
I have a RT-AC68U A1 and 1 Gb internet bat download torrent is limited to 30 Mb.
Please help.
I'm not a torrent user, but you should provide a bit more data on your setup for others to help
- What torrent app? Installed on router or run from a client?
- If a client, connected via ethernet or wireless?
- Any other packages installed? Entware? Skynet? Diversion?
- What router options, QoS, Traffic Monitor? What DNS servers?
- Ports manually forwarded or set via upnp?
- Anything else you can think of about your config.

Thanks for the reply.
Qbittorrent default and router settings are also default.
I just use LAN
The browser speedtest is 940 Mb.
Just in the torrent I have 30 Mb.
With original original firmware it goes around 100 Mb

Thx for the update!

I selected DoT with Cloudflare and have no complaints from the family. :)

Is DNS Rebind protection unnecessary with DoT? Just curious, why you have it disabled.

How are you determining the torrent speeds (30/100)? If you are looking at the speeds reported by qBittorrent they are in Mebibytes (MiB) not Megabits (Mb). So 100MiB/s (=839Mb/s) would be consistent with the maximum speed of your connection.

Try downloading from a known high speed source, like Ubuntu: http://releases.ubuntu.com/18.10/ubuntu-18.10-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent

Check that Hardware acceleration is enabled at Tools > System Information > Network

With Merlin fork 374.43_37E4j9527 only 20-30 MiB /s.
Now whit 384.8 i have 90-100 MiB/s.
My speedtest is attached.
We are looking for the best firmware for RT-AC68U.
For now, I do not use the router except for web and torrent.
Thanks a lot for answers.

Biggest reason is because it's the default.
Also I use local LAN resolving and if I hover over that item, it says something about not working if on yes.
