Thanks for saving me some time. Seems like it's a MIPS based issue (I've been trying to recreate it on the AC68 without any success).

Just for fun, I put in a retry on the read of the RSSI value if it returns a bad value. Anyone want to try it, send me a PM.

Sure, why not.
Shoot me a PM with the download link for the RT-N66U. :)

You didn't specify, but I'm assuming you have a MIPS based router. I haven't had any reports of it not working and I verified the code is still intact. The only thing I can recommend is to try a reset to factory defaults and setting things up from scratch. Sorry I don't have a MIPS router to test it on myself.

Note for others....the MIPS routers don't have a separate WiFi ON-OFF button, and there is an option to change the WPS button to perform this function.
Update to 11E Version and now it's working. :) Wasn't on 10. Don't know why. It's on an RT N16 my mistake.

Glad to hear it's now working, although I can't explain any difference between V11E and V10 that would change things. Sometimes just rebooting after loading code will clean something up.

Thx John, got it up and running.

I do notice a few things from the start.
- Sliders on the Wireless Log page
- Flags (table) is a bit shifted
- No reading on guest networks at all

I did some benchmarks with my Android phone on 5GHz, so for sure that WiFi was busy. :)
(And hit refresh a few times.)
If you want to cook a B4 version, let me know.
I'll keep an eye on the devices that do report RSSI, let you know how that goes.

I think the sliders have always been there.
Anyone to confirm please, with a RT-N66U?
Thx. :)

They probably shouldn't be there. Which browser?

Ohhh crap, it does seem browser related.
Using Chrome the "Wireless Log" has sliders but "DHCP leases", "IPv6", "Routing Table", "Port Forwarding" and "Connections" does NOT.

Using IE11, ALL above are using sliders.
(For no reason, most boxes are almost empty.)

When I added color to the Wireless Log, I had to convert the existing <textarea> to a <div> block. I use IE, and saw the sliders on every page, so I added it to the new Wireless Log page for consistency. It's easy to remove it from the Wireless Log page......don't know about the other pages (and am not inclined to mess with them :) )

The horizontal slider is new to me, and also present on my n66u. Used browser firefox, tried with internet explorer, also there.

If I recall correct, it has been fine maybe a few releases back.
Not sure on this one.
It's not a big deal, it just doesn't look clean.

I looked and it's easy to show the horizontal scroll bars for the log pages in IE only if needed......I'll pick it up in the next release :)

My computer Geek friend once told me people use IE to download a better browser :p

Funny story - tonight while I was working on my Windows 10 laptop, I got a notification (you get them from time to time, where MS asks you for feedback on certain parts of Windows 10). The feedback request was asking me, on a scale of 1 to 5, how likely I was to recommend Google Chrome to someone else LOL :) I assume the survey was asking about whichever browser was my default one, and someone at MS thought that it would have been either Edge or IE.

This is funny in that it really is true.

I use IE at work because all the systems only accept IE as the official web browser. I use IE at home for downloads because my regular browser (TOR & Firefox) have such a high security setting that I cannot download software updates. IE, according to the annual hackathon stats, is the easiest browser to exploit. I don't use Chrome, if I can help it, since I prefer not to have Google tracking my every move and giving them information for free. If they would pay me for it, that would be a different story...

IE has been the only browser that works consistently for me and most of my customers, though we both also supplement IE with Firefox once in a while.

IE may not be cutting edge nor have add in support, but it displays the websites I want to see as fast or faster than any alternative I've ever tried. Last time a browser was better than IE was pre IE 1.0 with Netscape Navigator way back when.

The problem with almost any third party browser is how disconnected it feels / is from the OS I prefer to run (Windows 8.1).

obviously you never had to install any plugins in ie otherwise you would have noticed ie is a real pain.
i refuses to install plugins because of standard security levels but it does not tell you what to change so you can install a specific plugin(eg video surveillance plugin)

the end result is that after 30 minutes of disabling any security feuture it will install and you leave the browser in the last current state(unprotected)
I have tried dozens of explores and firefox is the only one which does what it needs to do.
I guess the perfect browser is still in the eyes of the beholder

allright, back to topic again.

regarding the system log tabs
in firefox(any zooming level) only the wireless log tab shows a vertical scroll bar and a horizontal scroll window(without the scrolling bar in it)
so the best way to get everything consistent again is only get rid of the scrolling stuff on the wireless log tab.

Actually, it's just the default states which are different....IE always has the scroll bars (both vertical and horizontal) and firefox only puts them in when required (I get them in firefox on the IPV6 and Route tabs when the text overflows the window). I'll change the style settings so IE behaves the same.

(PS - I consider it a good thing that this is the biggest topic of discussion right now :) )

if you mean the the lenght of the fork thread i also consider it a bad thing.
it means there are a lot more people who apparently like the old firmware version but despite that fact Asus is still going the other way(more functionality but less performance/range)
