Ability to adjust wifi power levels even with the newer drivers
Thanks, this answers my question! I was under the impression that the limitations on power levels with newer versions of the firmware were implemented in the driver itself, and that updating to a newer driver/SDK meant gimping your power level regardless of what the UI might say.
 
Hi @john9527 I just migrated to your fork, everything working great, but I installed transmission and when I try to update the block list from the transmission webpage it never updates and in the system log I get the following:
Jan 26 21:58:52 transmission-daemon[4088]: Error uncompressing blocklist: buffer error (-5) (rpcimpl.c:1561)
I made a search on google but it returned some stuff for the tranmission client on an OS and not for the router, so I dont have an idea to what to do.
It hade the original blocklist on the settings.json and I changed it to one on the iblocklist site, but it never updates and returns the error.

Sorry, but no idea here either. I took a quick look at the transmission code, and the fail is in the transmission code when it's trying to 'inflate' the downloaded blacklist with zlib. I'm assuming you installed from Entware.....both transmission and zlib were just updated within the last 30 days. When was the last time before this you had done the install? Maybe an error crept in in the updates?

Thanks for the info, but it was a long time ago, think a reset to defaults when I used the merlin 380.69 build and installed and it worked at the time, when I reset the settings is when I update the blocklist just one time and never check it again, and yesterday when I reset default to your fork and installed everything from scratch, just hope that in a future update gets fixed, and yes I installed from entware.... everything else is working great no issues so far.

Update-30E2 is now available!

Update-30E2 Highlights
  • Security fixes for recent ASUS CVE's applicable to the fork. Many of the recent CVE's are tied to exploits involving web tokens and are not applicable to the http auth used in the fork.
  • Disabled HTTP access from WAN
  • KRACK fix for AC56
  • Component updates to NANO, CURL, LIBOGG and LIBVORBIS
  • Update DNSCrypt resolver update script to point to new url location
  • Misc ARM and MIPS component updates from 380/384 level ('E' Builds only)
    May fix HW acceleration over PPPoE (never had any volunteers for an early test :( )
  • NEW: Ability to adjust kernel level TCP/UDP buffer allocations (access on Tools>Other Settings page). This may improve performance over high speed connections or when using VPNs
  • IPTABLES fixes for save formatting and inability to delete rules created by IPTraffic.

The 'E' Build series supports all the support routers, including the newer rev AC68U and similar routers, and is the default fork version. The biggest change is the inclusion of the KRACK fix for the N66, AC66, AC56 and AC68 routers when used as a Repeater or Media Bridge. The N16 will NOT be updated for the KRACK fix.
For those of you with early rev (A1,A2,B1) AC68U's who wish to remain with the earlier wireless drivers, I've included a build directory that continues to be based on the earlier drivers/SDK, Update-nnLx (Legacy 'L' Build). IMPORTANT: The legacy builds do NOT include the KRACK fix for any supported router since part of the fix requires new wireless drivers.
I've also included a file @UpgradeMatrix.txt in the download directory. This shows the options for each router and build combination, including the need for a Factory Default reset or possible JFFS reformat.

Has anyone noticed problems with WAN side DHCPv6 on recent versions (V29-V30)? My RT-AC68U isn't picking up a IPv6 address or delegated prefix. I see outgoing DHCPv6 solicits but no responses. I don't think anything has changed in the upstream router which continues to send non-DHCP router advertisements.

As a matter of fact, I’ve noticed a couple of times over the past few weeks that I’ve not had ipv6 addresses. Didn’t look into it because a reboot solves it. I’ll look at logs if I see it again.

Haven't touched the IPv6 stack in ages and haven't noticed any loss on my end. If you can capture anything from the syslog, I'd be glad to take a look.

One thing....if you are running dual stack with a VPN client active, and select the Block IPv6 option, your clients (both VPN and non-VPN if using policy rules) won't receive an IPv6 address.
 
I fixed it just now, looks like the RT-AC68U wasn't responding to IPv6 neighbour solicitations so the upstream router was unable to send DHCPv6 replies. "Filter IPv6 Neighbor Solicitation" was set to "No" in the firewall config, but I toggled it on and off and that appears to have made DHCPv6 work again.

I have tcpdump output from the exact moment it started working. The first set of three neighbour solitications from the upstream router got no response from RT-AC68U:

Hi @john9527 I mentioned before, and I dont know if anybody else is having issues with the downloads from onedrive, but for me even at work that the internet is a bit more reliable its really slow, just to download the 20MB file of the firmware, it says it will take 1 hour to download and multiple times network error, so no other download site or mirror? when you gave out the amazon link it was the same result.

Hi, I had problems downloading with Firefox and downthemall (download manager app). My work around was avoid using a download manager application. Did you try Firefox or Chrome?
