Great news indeed. FYI there is a new firmware version for the vigor 130 which meets new regulatory requirements, I highly recommend installing this ASAP.

Download from draytek's site and install via web interface.

That's great news, and fair play to JP, certainly knows his stuff. I have also learnt a thing or two from this thread.

I would love to have sky fiber pro, but I live quite a way from the cabinet, modem says my max attainable line speed is 47mb, hardly worth the extra £10 a month for an extra 7mb.

Agreed, equipment policy's is a royal pain in the a**, having said that learning about wireshark to get the login info out of that sorry excuse of a modem they supply you was much fun. Man cave you say? Slightly jealous lol.

wireshark was certainly good fun, sky's jedi decided that the line speed was due to faulty equipment, so haggled a Q router out off them, turned out the line from the pole was in bits,,man cave's a shed 14x10 work in progress, an older router in cave connected through power plugs, laptop,win 10 desktop,stereo,fridge, dart board,what more could a man want..lol

I am doing this myself but I lose it every time I reboot router. How do I create one so it starts with the router?

Hi,

I use a wan-start script in the jffs scripts folder.

Just make sure you follow merlin’s instructions for this script.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I am looking on the wiki page but I don't see any instructions. Is this the correct page to look at? I see an explanation as to what I'm trying to achieve but no instructions how to do it.....?

My wan-start script looks like this:

#!/bin/sh
Ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.2.2 netmask 255.255.255.0

Just make sure you make the script executable.
