Am wondering is I should be concerned with these results, and if so, what setting on the 87u should be set to.

Paul, it seems that you have ftp, ssh, http and https for web interface, IMAP and SMTP enabled. You can simply shut off those services using web interface. You also have IMAP and SMTP open. Are you running a mail server?

Thanks for that, yk101. No, not running a mail server. Can you tell me how to turn that stuff off?
Regards, Paul.

If all those ports were genuinely open and you weren't aware that you were running those services I'd be seriously concerned.

However, I think it's more likely that you are port mapping your VPN provider's server, not your own router.

My ISP used to keep port TCP/25 open if port scanning my public IP from outside of the ISP - honeypot perhaps?

(FWIW - I didn't have port 25 open at the time...)

I think @ColinTaylor is likely on to something - esp. if there's a VPN in the middle of things - try turning off the VPN, and do another scan to the public facing IP.

I turned off the vpn and did the Gibson tests again. Came out okay with no issues, so as mentioned, likely due to vps. I'll send those JPGs to Windscribe and inquire if there are any issues.

Thanks for the usual great help here.

Thank the collective - esp @ColinTaylor - he's the one that made the right input here..

Or perhaps they simply intercept all port 25 traffic, and redirect it to their own SMTP.

It's more old-school for inbound SMTP on TCP/25... but yes, they suck it up on the inbound, and blackhole it from there for domains that don't match theirs -- mostly for anti-spam defense.

makes it a bit of a challenge for us that host our own domains... but easy enough to manage..
