GT-AX11000: What are the default LAN IP addresses for this router?

I was surprised, after configuring my new GT-AX11000 to see that its LAN IP address, the IPv4 gateway, is 192.168.50.1. It allocates 192.168.50.** to all LAN devices. All previous routers, by default, have used 192.168.1.1. Why is the GT-AX11000 different?

Secondly, does this have anything to do with the fact that I cannot access my Virgin Media modem GUI on 192.168.100.1? This is the normal IP address for Virgin Hubs in modem-only mode. (In router mode the IP is normally, 192.168. 0.1)
 
I just tried to access my virgin media hub in modem mode via that 100.1 address without any issue, I have not changed the LAN side of the AX11000
 
The 192.168.50.* address is now the default for the new Asus models. It's not just the GT-AX11000.

This should have no bearing on being able to access the Virgin Hub. Check that you didn't accidentally reset the Hub into router mode and 192.168.0.1.
 
Hi all. I am having a similar problem. I switched my router from a Zyxel to the AX11000 and now I am having issues recognizing wired devices through another router that is acting as a switch. The wireless devices connected to the other router/switch work perfectly but nothing that is wired through it works.
i am wondering if this has anything to do with the new lan IP address. FYI, I have gone through Asus’ default initial setup but nothing more.

You'll have to explain exactly how this "other router/switch" is configured and connected to your network.
 
Thanks Colin. The other router's wired functionality is now working, after 4 hours elapsed. Before that, it wasn't accepting anything. The secondary router/switch is connected from one of its LAN ports to one of the LAN ports on the AX11000. I am wondering why it took so long to be recognized and if there's a problem with the router. Ping hasn't been great either. I've been averaging 12-13 ms wireless and around 11ms wired. When I check fast.com, i get 14 unloaded and 18 loaded...

TBH your problem doesn't sound anything like that which was being discussed in this thread (e.g. accessing a modem on a different subnet). Maybe create a new thread in the appropriate forum for the particular brand you're using as a switch.
 
Thanks Colin, I will create a new post. However, I highly doubt the issue is with the router/switch as it's been working flawlessly for 2 years without needing special settings. It's a Zyxel EMG2926. I used to connect to its configuration software (browser based) by going to 192.168.0.3 and can no longer do that either. i have tried searching for it in the "network map" of the asus router firmware, but it doesn't appear there. only the devices connected to it. the wired and wireless connections are now working, but i'm not sure how to get to the router software, and i'm also not sure why generally speaking the AX11000 has a high ping. maybe i need to start a new post about optimal ax11000 settings for maintaining a low ping
