Guest net / subnet for wired connections?

Hello, I have a work laptop I use at home. I've successfully created a guest network to isolate this work laptop to its own network. However, I use a docking station which is wired with ethernet. When using a wired connection, the laptop is on the regular network with everything else.

Is there a way on ASUSMerlin to have a certain IP or Mac address placed on the guest network?

What router. What firmware?

To have a wired LAN port included with the Guest Network it may require using the Guest Network Pro feature of the 3006.x firmware. Currently the Asus-Merlin 3006.x firmware supports only a couple of routers. Asus stock 3006.x firmware is supported on a number of recent Asus routers.

ASUS AC88U on 386.13. So I'm guessing maybe not.

I utilize the dock for both my personal laptop and the work laptop. Therefore, isolating the one LAN port to a subnet would put my personal laptop on the subnet. That's why I was wondering if MAC or IP could be used. I'll peruse the threads though. Thank you!

Another possibility is using either FT (FreshTomato) or DD-WRT, both of which support VLANs natively. I know the FT firmware comes w/ some limitations (e.g., only 4 of the LAN ports are supported). Not sure if the same is true of DD-WRT.

Disconnect the wire. Using wireless does what you need without any changes on the router.
