Greeting to all,

Just bought PCE-AC66 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1750 PCI-E Adapter as it just arrive today in my country (Singapore).

I only get connection type 2.4Ghz/5Ghz 802.11n .

How to set to 802.11ac?

I'm using RT-AC66U.
In router > Wireless;
Frequency: 5Ghz
Wireless Mode: auto
Channel bandwidth: 80Mhz
Control Channel: 36

Frequency: 2.4Ghz
Wireless Mode: auto
Channel bandwidth: 40Mhz
Control Channel: 1

In wireless mode only option:
- auto
- N Only
- Legacy
Tried all, but still cant get AC Bandwidth.

Tried to search cant get any answer. Any assist here much appreciated

I have the same equipment. What I've done is use unique SSID names, one for the 2.4ghz network and one for the 5ghz network.

That way I know for sure which I am connected to as Wireless AC will only work on the 5ghz network.

Apart from that, the transfer speed only 16mb/s. I tried follow this thread but still the same

What type of data storage do you have? How do you connect it to the router (USB/LAN)?

Data storage: WD MyLiveBook 2TB
Connection: Lan Cat6

First, what link rate is your PC-AC66 reporting? Anything above 450 Mbps indicates that you are getting 11ac link rates.

16 MB/s = 128 Mbps, which isn't bad at all depending on distance between router and adapter.

Try the transfer in both directions. Uplink (client to router) will probably be faster.

Win 8 says "N" as well on my sons PC using the same setup. AC is still too new and draft...What are you actually connecting at?

Ditto for Win 7. My PCE-AC66 card connects @ 600mbps to my Linksys EA6500 router (so definitely wifi AC) yet Win 7 reports this as wifi N. Will try moving my router closer to see if i can get 1.3 Gbps rates

Where does Windows indicate the wireless standard, i.e. A, B, G, N?
