What feature is incompatible with HW acceleration? I'm on the latest stable firmware 270

edit: wireless 2.4 & 5 Ghz are not in use and turned off. traffic manager is enabled (turned it off b/c i thought this was it and it's not) IPv6 is off..

WHen you turn stuff off you have to reboot to have the hardware acceleration enabled.

I am betting its the traffic manager. Reboot the router. does it turn back on?

Just tried that again. It's still 'Disabled'

'Per IP traffic' is NOT enabled.

What's Oos, again? Looked didn't find a clue

That's QOS (quality of service, also under "Traffic Manager" tab)...if it's turned on, HW Acceleration will be disabled.

By the way, I'm using IPv6 with the 270.26b firmware, and HW Acceleration is still enabled for me. I think that didn't happen until the 354 firmware.

What would be better under a gaming scenario? HW Accelerator on or off vs QoS ?

Actually I just turned off QoS, and saved. Then rebooted and HW Acceleration is still disabled. (Incompatible feature enabled)

Here's a thread where this is discussed. You may already have seen it, but in case you haven't:

Personally, I never use QoS, but one would tend not to use it unless you've got competing network activities...like gaming while doing a large download. Otherwise, gaming will pretty much get the whole available bandwidth anyways.
