Hi,
2 weeks ago i shut everything off because we went away on vacation, and yesterday when i turned everything on again i got both speed problems and double NAT problem.

My ISP Telia has already confirmed that their router is acting strangely and will send me a new one.
While waiting for the new one they told me to connect the incoming WAN cable directly to my own router to get the same functionality as i hade before (except that my phone wont work).
Said and done, and after som testing i found that:
- When i connect my computer directly to the WAN cabel, i get apx 100/100 Mbit/s.
- When i connect the WAN cabel to my RC-AC66U router i get apx 12/12 Mbit/s.
- When i measure the throughput of the router i get apx 80-90 Mbit/s.

How does this add up?

I don't understand, i had no problems at all 2 weeks ago. And then everything has been unplugged until yesterday.
When i tested the speed before my vacation i got apx 90/90 Mbit/s.

Can it be that both my ISP router and my own router got messed up at the same time?

I have the latest Merlin firmware for my router, 380.65_4

Hi Tobbe

Did they bridge the Telia router ? that is something you should get done if they havent

https://www.telia.se/privat/support/info/bryggning-av-router

if you suspect that you get lowers speeds then you should be getting then i STRONGLY suggest

https://www.telia.se/privat/support/felanmalan/bredband

let me know if any of this works..
Thanks for your quick repy!

They did bridge it when i moved in here about two years ago and according to them it still was now, even though they could also see that it was acting strangely.
The new ISP router is automatically bridged according to Telia.
As the new ISP router is on it's way from them i can't report it more than i have already done.

then all you can do is wait for the new router and routers arent automatically bridged when sent out.. (trust me on that) but if you havent received the new router yet then you have to wait..

I get that but in the meantime i found this:
- When i connect my computer directly to the WAN cabel, i get apx 100/100 Mbit/s.

And that looks strange to me...

Well if you get 100/100 with just Ethernet directly connected

then 80 with Telia router

then 12 with asus then its pretty obvious that asus has some issue

so backup your settings and do a factory reset and try again

https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/JFFS#backing-up-the-jffs-partition

you dont have to use Johns Utility but you might wanna backup settings and JFFS if you got custom settings on your router.

I will do a reset now and post the result...

Took a little longer, the daughter wanted to see a movie, anyway, now the reset has been done and i have come up to my usual speed again.

Thank you very much for the help.
I honestly did not think about a reset at all because in my mind this was something that takes a very long time.
It took about 15 minutes from pressing restore until i was fully up and running again.
