Env: RT-AC68U running 3.0.0.4.480_4164, iTunes Server enabled, Media Server enabled, manual media path enabled and some .AAC files present in that path. Clients are Win10PC/MacOS Sierra Mac running iTunes 12.5.4.42.
PC Windows Media Player sees the router's Media Server fine and can see and play contents and all is well. (VLC Player UPnP doesn't see the router, FWIW.) Both Mac and Windows iTunes see the router's iTunes Server, but, upon selecting it, both spin for a second and then revert right back to the local iTunes library with no hint what iTunes doesn't like about that server.
Searching here and via the google, I didn't find any recent discussion of this kind of issue. Does anybody else have the ASUS iTunes server working and serving media to iTunes? Is there some magic trick?
