Still no firmware update for V1.
Still no firmware update for V1.
via the support WebSite or the Router GUI? Last time, the GUI had the update as a delta vs. the firmware being posted...
Hoping Linksys isn't EOS'ing the V1's, as they're still on store shelves...

I connected my V1 and tried both and nothing. My 1200AC seems to be running really well with the latest firmware. I test many routers so I am swapping routers daily.

My V1 has been running well since like July of last year. Would it be nice if they'd update the firmware? Sure. But the V1 is a mature device and doesn't need anything more, IMO.
Thanks for the firmware notice.New firmware for V1 posted
Firmware version: 1.1.10.167514
Release date: June 30, 2015
- Enabled the auto recovery feature when OpenWRT firmware is loaded
- Integrated an IPv6 fix specific to some Comcast subscribers
- General bug fixes
That's for the firmware notice.
I think the website admins don't update on a daily basis. The firmwares are typically available in the router UI Firmware update section days before it shows up on the website. What I don't get is their posted dates. I check yesterday and there wasn't anything new, but today there is with a posted date of 6/30. Same thing when I posted the V2 update on the 22nd.
That is odd!Interestingly enough, the GUI told me this morning that no updates were available. Right after I downloaded it manually from the website. Something is wonky.

Nothing wonky. This is the expected behavior.
Following anything in 'auto' mode is a cause for frustration. And counting on the GUI to inform of updates is in the same field, in my experience.
It's not in "auto" mode. I don't ever run any router, NAS, or other device with automatic updates, not even Windows. I always pick and choose what I want to install and when.
I manually clicked the "Check for new firmware" button. It returned "no updates available" even though I had just downloaded it manually from the website. I tried it a couple of times before I finally just updated the firmware manually using the downloaded file.
Manually clicking the button is how to initiate 'auto update mode'.
Screw firmwares when the device (v2) is still not available in the market
I got one a my local Walmart but returned it without opening it the weekend of the 4th of July. There have been some people saying they were out in the wild, I believe there was a post here and in the linksys forum as well.
