Good luck with this brand new product on a brand new firmware base. And remember - can't beat the physics. Also any model router or AP you buy will be limited to your local RF regulations and high-end models like your XT12 are already close to 30dBm for specific regions.

close to 30dBm would be nice, but here in Europe (Austria) 20dBm is the regulatory limit

My last hope (and test) from the ASUS product line will be the BQ16...

Don't waste your time then, the new BQ16 will be the same with perhaps even shorter range on 6GHz band.
