Hi all.

Which settings can I adjust if I have wifi dropout on the 2,4ghz net when I use our microwave? And no, changing position of microwave, router ect. is not an option.

I use the Alpha4 firmware for rc66.

Then you can insulate your router with a box of magnetic steel, that should fix your microwave problem. :)

Try using channel 11. Microwave frequency has greatest impact on lower channels.

...also the benefits of using a microwave are totally overrated and
reflect a distorted picture of healthy cooking. :D

...sorry, couldn't resist :)

I guess you don't have children :) When children is around a microwave for reheating is NEVER overrated. Cooking a primary meal in a microwave THATS overrated ;)

It depends on where in the receiver chain the microwave signal is getting info the router. It may not be frequency dependant.

If your microwave interferes with your wifi, I would suggest buying a new Microwave.

If it interferes with wifi, it is leaking radiation, it might not be healthy to get too close to it.

I have never seen a properly working microwave which interferes with wifi. (But then again we might have stricter rules here regarding this kind of equipment)

if you put you're mobile in the microwave oven with the door shut (without turning the oven on) an calls it from another phone and the mobile rings then get another microwave as the one you have isn't working properly

I must say, that's a creative way to see how much radio waves are leaking through your microwave.

Which would leave only channel 1 realistically. Channel 10 will get interference from both Channel 6 and Channel 11.

It is only a guide and not an absolute test. It depends on the sensitivity of the devices being tested amongst other parameters. Brilliant idea and nice out-of-the-box thinking .

I bet you have a Panasonic Inverter microwave? They are much harder on wifi than a traditional microwave. I know you cannot move either but can you buy a new microwave?

edit: this is because they pulse much faster (1000s of Hz instead of 60 Hz), so fast there is not enough space between the pulses for the wifi to operate.

That is what I have. It is a Panasonic Genius 1250 Watt Sensor Microwave w/Inverter Technology. Ch1 did work better. But still got DC's. But since using 5Ghz band, there are zero dropouts.
