miniDNLA freezes video

Piker

Occasional Visitor
I have problems with my RT-N66U freezing mp4 video playback (but not audio) using the miniDNLA Media Server running a usb2 external hdd. I am also running a 4g usb modem in the other port, could that be a problem? If not, what other settings should I look at that may be causing this?

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a lighter media server that I can install over ssh? Or should I roll back my firmware (have had the same problem with both of Merlins 374.40 and 374.43)?

I have problems with minidlna reliability, too. Although you must describe better your situation... devices, wifi or lan connection.. have you tried various renderers and another library? Controller? Etc..

Thanks Iwizard. I have a Sierra 320u 4g modem using one usb port on the router (constant connection failback mode) and the other usb is connected to a 2TB external (Astone/WD) HDD caddy (NTFS formatted) which holds the mp4 media. The LG Smart TV is directly connected to the LAN. I haven't tried anything other than enabling the DLNA Media Server in the settings, although i'm game to try anything to get this to work. I can use SSH/Putty etc...
