Setting cable modem priority to highest minimizes latency without QoS enabled

Are you saying that if we do device priorities and Adaptive QoS is enabled, it does nothing? Does that mean that if the priority is marked for devices with Colors, it only works when it comes to Traditional setting?
That is correct based on my research.

I’m going to show this post to my wife… :)
Hahahaha... Thanks again! If you have any more tips and tricks on how to stabilize the online experience with Call of duty,BO6 please write.
ps.I don't know if everything should stay as in picture 1 or if I should change the settings to be like picture 2?

What's the ISP line as technology and speed?

Ps.
I use optics 600Up - 600 Down. The modem from my ISP is in bridge mode. Bufferbloat test A+
But I still feel like I'm lagging behind other players. I only play Call of Duty BO6. I'm trying to find ways to improve my gameplay.
I manually reduced the speed to 100-100 for a better result, but it doesn't help. The delay is noticeably constant.
I tested the connection of my ISP with the PingPlotter program and I have a stable connection. It varies from 2 to 4 ms.
The MTU is set to 1472 and does not require packet fragmentation.
I use an Asus monitor 27 inches 2.1

Traditional QoS and Cake QoS will reduce your WAN-LAN speed to about 300Mbps for the entire network behind your router. Your only option is Adaptive QoS with eventually FlexQoS on top. I don't know if FlexQoS works well (or at all) on your router. Experiment and see what happens.

But I still feel like I'm lagging behind other players.

I also notice some things were easier to for me to do some years ago. Don't worry about it. 🤭

I didn't know how to install FlexQoS. I'm new to all this and new to the forum. Some things are still complicated for me.

I believe you are wasting your time QoS-ing your 600/600 fiber and 2-4ms latency.

I don't have the Cake option. I'm on the official Asus FW. I tried Merlin but I had high latency when I played online. The FW is not stable enough for me.The only thing I haven't tried is FlexQos
Maybe the problem is in the routing of my ISP to the BO6 servers ,🤖🎮

In this case Adaptive QoS is your only option for QoS. I would keep QoS disabled on ISP like yours. High latency to game servers is the most common games related issue. External factor you can't fix on your side.

It seems so. Thanks for the tips. 🙋🏻‍♂️

If you have this option, add your gaming device to this "Gear Accelerator" device list. It will prioritize it in the top Adaptive QoS category.

I tried that too, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Adaptive has the highest latency and lagging, really strange, but it should go smoothly. I think I've tried everything except FlexQos.

The traditional is somehow showing the best so far, although it is not ideal either.

I also tried to turn off Qos completely, but then I think that the router is totally lost and that there are no real guidelines for where the packets should be sent and in what order. It was impossible to play like that.

You mentioned you noticed latency while using asuswrt-merlin firmware. This is not firmware related & with 600/600 fiber speeds your issue might fall under your ISP/modem.

However if you try FlexQoS, you'll need to go back to this firmware. I would definitely give Flex a try, just make sure you remove any devices added under Gear Accelerator if you decide to use it.

I thought it was the same problem, but it wasn't. I used a modem from my ISP for 2 years and I thought it was over. I called my ISP and asked for a replacement device. They came two weeks ago and brought me a new one, so it's not a problem with the Modem. One more thing to understand. I'm not a little boy who plays all day. I'm 45 years old and have three small children. I like to play only one game when I get home from work and I play 3 hours online a day. As for Merlin FW, I don't think it can be better than the official Asus FW. Again, the Official one is a bit more serious and is made by a whole team of programmers and engineers. It didn't come out of a small room at home or a coffee shop. I still think that FW is serious thing, not a hobby and joking that it is easy to access. Many people depend on whether something will work properly or not. I used Merlin for two weeks and it cannot be compared that FW with FW Asus official.

Merlin firmware is very good and stable. Gnuton firmware might be less reliable (never used it but always read reports of QoS-related issues).

I believe that it is ok for some other purposes where stability is not required. In gaming, every millisecond and lag is very important. Especially when playing FPS games. For Netflix, Web surf, etc. Merlin was ok for me. LOL

To each their own but with the asuswrt-merlin you can do alot more than the stock firmware (Ad blocker/Unbound/Flex etc...) sometimes security fixes are done before Asus.

Asuswrt-merlin is very dependable and has been for a long time!

But I belive you would use the GNuton fw which I'm not too familiar with.
