So let me give some parameters:
1. I have the N66U wireless router running Firmware 3.0.0.4.374_5517
2. I have TWC 300/20 Internet with an Arris modem in bridge mode with the N66U
3. I have a Sager computer with a Killer Wireless N-1202 built in adapter
If I plug into the ports on the back of the router, I can get 320/22 speeds no problem.
Connected to the 5Ghz mode on the router, sitting only 5-6 feet from it, I can only get around 95/10.
In 2.4Ghz mode, it's the same deal. I can only get around 100/10.
It's bizarre, especially the upload, because it almost acts like it is capped. But again, in wired mode, it's a breeze to get 300+/20+ every single time.
I've got no other 5Ghz networks and I changed several channels 1/6/11 for the 2.4Ghz and none of that made a difference.
I also got the same results on my wife's computer in the 2.4Ghz mode.
Any ideas what I'm missing?
