New Around Here
Hi im new to this home server universe

I have a lot of DVD's which I want to have free access to by ripping them and put them to some device, where I can stream from. I want to stream at my laptop, cell phone and tablet. I want the cheapest solution where it's still possible to stream outside my home/network. I though about bying this:
https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1082941/wd-my-cloud-wdbctl0030hwt-nas
but I'm not sure, can I use this?
And if I want to use Plex, do I need a NAS where it is possible to install Plex, I have Plex installed on my devices. Please help with this and sorry if it's not clear.

Plex can be ran on whatever PC you want. If you run it on a device separate from your NAS, you would need to remotely mount your NAS-stored media with SMB or NFS (or iSCSI, etc) on the local Plex device.

Just wondering... is your internet connection fast enough for streaming to external clients? DVDs converted to h264 should be a pretty low bitrate (~1mbit?) but HD streams will require 5mbit+. Is your upload speed fast enough?
