New Around Here
Hello guys,

I have recently tried to setup my home network . Currently I have a wireless receiver/antenna at the top of my roof which was setup by my ISP and this receiver is connected to a poe to lan adapter via CAT5 CABLE. Further the Lan cable is connected to my DLINK 600m router. I want to know how i can proceed the network from here to my other rooms making a lan network. I hae 3 Dlink RJ45 I/O BOX 1 for each room ... and cat 6 cable connecting each of these I/O boxes with each other.

I am not a networking expert but I can completely understand on guidance. Below is a sample diagram of my current network :

Look forward to your help.

connect an ethernet cable between the router and I/O box 1.
buy a five or eight port gigabit switch and connect one port to inbound port in I/O box 2 and connect another port to outbound on I/O box 2.

buy a 5 or 8 port gigabit switch and connect one port to I/O box 3 if you need access for more than one device.

all cables should be CAT6 matching spec of the wall connections.

All devices will be on the same lan with the router running DHCP.

Thanks for the reply.... can you guide me on the color code on the rj45 jack and the IO box wiring. What spec should i keep there? and is it necessary to have same colour code on both end (the lan cable and the wiring at input of IO box). Also can i keep the wifi router in the position of network switch ... as the wifi router also have additional lan ports apart from 1 wan port. Is it possible? It will save me few bucks.

If I am not wrong ... then this is how it should look :

you should be able to do that. Just connect the cable you would have run to the router into the I/O box 1
The cable from I/O box 2 then connects to the WAN port on the router. Just keep them all as CAT 6 cables.
The colors are just to help distinguish one type of connection from another ( WAN versus LAN for example).

GA, on the last post, and i are saying the same thing. As long as your router connects to the isp currently without issue now, all you are doing is extending the cable length by moving it to box 2. POE is not an issue since you show a separate injector. Most ethernet ports auto negotiate cross over or straight through. In the old days, you had to get the correct cable. As long as you don't have connector termination issues you should be ok. Other than getting a few cables, you should be able to test the layout without great expense.
