Need some advice regarding QoS

I have an AC66U and a 120/12mbit connection.

I'm worried the upload might become congested, as I use it for latency sensitive services, like games and VOIP, so I want to set up QoS. Unfortunately that disables HW acceleration, limiting the AC66U to 90/106mbit with QoS enabled.

So, I'm wondering what's better. Limiting my download speed to 100mbit and use QoS or forget about QoS and use HW acceleration. I'm also not sure if I actually need QoS at those speeds.

Also, the router will run at 100% CPU at those speeds, so will that negatively affect network performance?

P.S. I'm not really looking into upgrading my router as I bought this one when my connection was still 30/3mbit. My ISP forced everyone to upgrade and 120mbit is now actually the lowest speed you can get in combination with the HDTV subscription.

The only way to saturate the upload is if you run torrents. I also have a 125/12 connection through Comcast but am running an older N66 with no problems without using QoS. IMHO, at those speeds, QoS isn't necessary.
