You also have the advantage to run it on your router, @XIII. The router @shoman94 has doesn't have this option. You get good value for your money in your use case, but @shoman94 has to decide what is best for him. NextDNS is only one of the available filtering DNS services to choose from.

Indeed. That’s why I posted my reasons / use case (for reference).

Of course he/she has to decide themselves.
 
Thanks for all the great feedback. I've been using NextDNS configured on my router for ipv4 and ipv6 for the past 24hrs. The have a 7 days trial before the limits kick in for the free version. I love how well it does at blocking ads. 20 bucks a year is fair for me. I also like that I can use it on my mobile phones as well.
