I'm having trouble reaching IIS on my Windows Server from WAN through my Asus RT-AC3200 running Merlin 378.50 firmware. I do have the HTTP 80 Port forwarded to the IP of my Windows Server installation but I'm still not able to reach it externally for some reason.

I have tried to disabled / enable the built-in firewall without any luck, I do not run the Asus admin webui on HTTP Port 80, it's running HTTPS only on the default port 8443 and I also tried to enable the option allowing for reaching the Asus admin webui from WAN. Nothing seems to be working.

IIS is working perfectly as I can reach everything locally, and if I bind the website on the IIS to another port like 65433 and do a port forward of that port, then I'm able to reach it.. But I do want to use port 80 simply because of the http auto-resolve on port 80.

I was starting to believe that perhaps my ISP is blocking port 80 for some reason, but if I run the Asus admin webui on HTTP Port 80 and allow for it to be reached externally then I'm able to reach it through port 80 so it does not seem to be any ISP blocking on port 80.

What might be the reason why I can't get things to work on port 80? There is no firewall running on the Windows Server blocking anything. It seems like the Asus RT-AC3200 is refusing external connections though port 80 even when I have port forwarding rules telling it to forward it to my server.

When you reach the asus webui on port 80 over wan, do you use the dns name/wan ip address?

I was using both my external IP and DNS name, both worked with auto-resolving on port 80.

Just tried to recreate it. port forwarded from wan:80 to local_internal_ip:90. Worked okay. You may want to share your iptables output.
