Novice needing network design advice

:(:(:( So much for that. But, I still think we will be able to get down the road with this.

They're decent enough switches - just no support from HP as they're end of life (as of Feb 2015, that's why they're so cheap these days)...

Grab the management utils and any firmware updates if they're still available from HP's support site, critical now with the HPE/HP split...
 
Wouldn't cheap Netgear or Cisco GIG dumb switches be better? They sell for very little now days used.

If you have trouble linking them together some old fast Ethernet switches require a crossover cable to link.

Same problem applies - old/obsolete gear is cheap, and just because it's old, don't mean it ain't still useful...

Like you and I though - hard to find updates these days - beards grey and all... you are still useful, wise and experienced, hopefully so am I...
