I'm only seeing versions 3.0.0.4.378.7838 and 3.0.0.4.378.7554 on Asus' site. Might be a caching issue with their site. Did this just go live today?

Yes

Well that was a great start to this new firmware:
Upgraded firmware and rebooted as requested.
Performed a hard reset just to be sure, now I get a login page but once logged in nothing appears - just get a white page on all my browsers.

Router works ok - can connect to wireless, get onto internet, just can't get to the admin console page :(

ok i'm officially out of ideas.

Hard reset again - I can get through the initial config (setting username and wifi stuff etc) but then just get a blank page when trying to connect to the router through my browser.
It seems to be working ok as I'm here typing this!

Any quick advice would be greatly appreciated.

SOO! - I used the restoration utility. I had to manually place the router in restore mode (Hold down reset whilst plugging power back in) and the utility started to work. It got to 5% then stopped giving an error about this utility can't be used on a working router.

I then tried to connect to it again and it worked! - Numpty here though decided to do a factory reset (through admin options) and its done the same thing again - Can run through the initial setup, then a blank page.

Trying to login to the router gives me the initial login page but then nothing afterwards (blank page).

So much for quality testing asus - you better pull this firmware quicktime ASUS as it looks like Ramguy has a similar issue..... http://www.snbforums.com/threads/did-i-just-brick-my-asus-rt-ac3200.27388/

Upgraded from the beta 8868 , upgrade ran perfectly all looks good so far.

When upgrading patience is required, leave the browser windows alone until the upgrade logs you out, that can take several minutes, then reboot.

Upgrade didnt log out bud. It said to reboot router manually thats it. Ive just run the restore utility again and even though it bombed out at 11% again this time its now let me back in.

Gunna try flashing it again once i put the kids to bed just in case it was a corrupt flash

Mine seems to be bricked completely... Now the restoration utility simply crashes when I try to use it.

That is the part that requires patience, you get the screen come up saying a reboot will be required ......... leave it alone for a few minutes, the upgrade hasn't finished yet.
It can take 2-3 minutes to go to the log out screen.

Did you put the router into recovery mode manually first bud? Try and connect to it via direct lan cable. Let us know how u get on. Never had issues this severe flashing new firmware until this release.

It didn't require a reset, just a reboot.

Bet you will have issues if you try to reset. Thats the one common thing me and Ramguy have done, unfortunately his is in a worse state than mine - sorry ramguy.

I've just gone through the whole process again - Recovery mode to get into the GUI then reflashed a freshly downloaded copy of this latest firmware.
Got the message to reboot router, then got logged out to the main login page.
Waited another 3-4 minutes and tried to login - getting the same problem again; can login ok but then no gui just a blank page.

Defo somat wrong with this firmware as none of the other firmwares have given me this issue - I upgraded from the 8868 beta same as AndreiV.

at least the router is sort of working for now allowing some of my devices on the internet - working from home tomorrow and can't afford for anything to get botched so leaving it in this sorry state until Asus update the firmware - hope its not another month away.

Mine is going back to the retailer on Monday for a replacement, that's one of the good thing living in Norway where things like this will get replaced directly in the store without much questions asked.

But this issue seems really silly, I'm seriously considering replacing it with something else but there isn't much else to replace it without downgrading as the RT-AC5200 is not available yet.

Going from 3rd party firmware to official asus firmware? How would this be Asus at fault? btw a friend running official previous version updated his without incident. If merlin is so great why not stay with it?
