it's normal ?

My ID was just all lowercase letters 7 of them my password was a number to start then 8 letters then capitol X no special characters but I also tried a number and just 7 letters

Hm. The weird part is, so far, only AC87U owners have reported that issue (as far as I know).

It looks like my httpd only restarts when I click on either "Adaptive QoS" or "Traffic Analyzer". I kept clicking on all the other setting and they work fine. Please confirm.

I tried to enable error logging of lighttpd but /opt/etc/asus_conf.d/logs/error.log hardly contains anything.

I have an AC87R. It is indeed very strange.

Exact same router. I meant it doesn't affect any of the non-Quantenna routers so far, that I know of.

lighttpd is only used for AiCloud. Web UI is handled by a custom server called httpd.

I haven't heard anything either from Asus_Asuswrt since I sent then the logs and config. Guessing that could be a couple days though.

I have two AC66U's that are running the latest in media bridge mode and those are running great (same user ID and password on those as the AC87R).

Actually I have RT68U I use as an access point and I have the same problem with that with the newest firmware. I ended up going back to the previous firmware as well. Same thing when you log in the page is blank white

Hm. That makes it even weirder then that only a few specific users are affected.

Hopefully Asus will be able to reproduce the issue on their end.

I'm not having the mentioned issue on the ac87u... strange...

Same here, I did a few tests tonight on my own AC87U, couldn't reproduce the issue.

It's not as simple as what method you are using to connect to and configure the router? Are you using wifi? 5Ghz?

It seems just too much of a coincidence that 2 different devices owned by one person have the same problem if it were a fault. Surely it must be either a device on the network, something people are configuring during setup, or the way they are connecting to the router.

It seems people have tried making minimal changes after reset, so what about disconnecting all other devices during setup? Try a single wired device to a router with no other devices and using the default Asus SSID. Given this is straight after reset, this has got to work, hasn't it?!

it's not 2 different devices owned by 1 person a lot of people are having this issue

Yes, I realise that. But it is still rare and so very unlikely it is happening on more than one device, even type of device, for one person unless it is something in their setup or configuration. Have you tried the ultra simple setup I mentioned - one wired device only for setup, Asus defaults? If that works we can start adding the rest of your setup until it fails.

No I reverted back until it's sorted out, that reasoning doesn't make sense if it had something to do with their setup the issue would have existed before the firmware update. 2 of my friends have this router and having the same issue. Spoke to Asus support and they also mentioned tons of people calling about the issue. They are telling people to roll back until it's figured out.
