Amen to that, brother... in a good way, eh!I would also not confuse America with North America.
I would also not confuse America with North America. There has been no disorder issues reported up here in Canada.
Just wanted to drop a 'Keep safe' message to everyone in USA and Canada. Looks like you guys are going to get hit bad. Trump should have taken it more seriously. Good Luck
I've had a few medical issues in the last three months, been hospitalized twice. Since I am older, they think I am more likely to have the virus, so they tested me on Sunday. Just got the results back -
NEGATIVE
I'm so happy I want the world to know!

Here in my country, a man recovered from the virus throws a party of 100 people to celebrate and got the virus again.
Luckily for @thelonelycoder to get home! The Canadian government was a bit slow at shutting down inbound travelers
The Air Canada Toronto to Zurich flight had been cancelled a day after I booked it. So I booked a third flight with Swiss from LAX via London to ZRH which brought me home safe. Now I wait for the reimbursement of my original Swiss return flight and the Air Canada one way flight.Luckily for @thelonelycoder to get home!

Folks, please, when you see a claim like this, check for reports from credible news sources.
I already know about the possibility of reinfection because your body's immune system is at the lowest when you recover from such a virus and it can be overwhelmed with a second attack within a few days of recovery, though your body immune response will be a lot faster due to already created Anti Bodies but it's like an army and every army requires rest and resupply to be 100% functional.
Although I agree with the false positives results as well but reinfection is quite possible, it is all a game of your body's Immune system and its capacity to tackle intruders.
I know that so far, they have done some testing on monkeys regarding re-infection. The initial tests they did showed that the monkeys had developed an immunity and couldn't be reinfected. However, that was over the course of a few weeks (two weeks after they were initially healed, if I recall).
One unknown at this point is whether that immunity can fade away over time, which is one of the things they fear, based on what they observed with humans and other similar viruses. And also how those test results can translate to humans.
Yeah it all depends on your immune system and I was talking about just a few days after initial recovery when your immune system was pretty tired with all the fighting and at that time a second infection is quite possible. Your immunity depends on your immune system and when that system is working at the least possible capacity you can't expect it to fight with a new wave of virus army all of a sudden BEFORE it has the time to regain its full capacity.
Also, I remember there was a short clinical study (in China if I recall) that seemed to indicate that it was possible to get re-infected. Other specialists however said their test wasn't really valid due to the methodology used. Those experts said that the proper way to test this is to have the person get a minimum of two negative tests over the period of a few days after recovery. That study only did one single test, so it could have been a false negative, or failed to detect the lower count tof viruses as the patient was simply going through a better stage.
In the end, I suspect that conclusive test results in that area will take quite a few weeks, because you need a larger test sample, and also a longer period of time to get this tested properly.
And as someone above said, we also need to vet information as it comes our way - social media may be a way to start investigating and discussing, but we really need to go to the science and look at that. For example, my twitter feed has been talking about a “cure” of an anti-malarial combined with a pretty heavy antibiotic with second person accounts of efficacy. They’re JUST starting to do proper studies of it, but there may be early indications of that being the case if administered with the correct timing in the progression of the virus’ (development? Advance?) in certain patients.Yes, we're getting new information on a daily basis and we need long term study to properly learn about all the effects.
<snip>
In any case, right now preventive measures are still the best and only way to keep yourself safe.
I wonder if handshakes are gone for good. I hope fist-bumps and elbow-bumps never return. We should start practicing bowing in the Japanese tradition. On the plus side, I wonder what other disease will start becoming much less common as a side effect of the current isolation measures we have in place (provided people do follow them). And people becoming more aware about simple things like washing their hands or coughing in their elbow might lead to a reduction of just regular flu issues in the future.
Gotta find something positive in all of the current mess. Eh.
