Hey.
Thanks for the respond.
It seems like the Full is marked as B1 version, does it also work for my non B1 version?

Make sure you match the firmware to your actual hardware. ;)

So there is no Full versio for my router.

Let me rephrase what I originally wrote.

Use the version of the firmware that gives you the most options, as needed. ;)

Start with the 'base' and see if you really need anything else.

Please help setting up VPN client.

router: rt-n56u running 3.4.3.9-099

I'm trying to connect to trust.zone vpn service. It seems to connect and authenticate correctly. But seems that the traffic is not being routed through the vpn.

I get the following error:
NOTE: unable to redirect default gateway -- VPN gateway parameter (--route-gateway or --ifconfig) is missing

Looks like server doesn't send you necessary routes. Try to set up "Route All Traffic through the VPN interface?" option.

Thanks ryzhov_al, I have "Route All Traffic through the VPN interface" as Yes, still of no avail.

How can I see the log for the commands in "Run the Script After Connected/Disconnected to VPN Server:" section. I have few debug commands and echo's that I cant find in the system logs.

Thanks

I tried the restart_wan command but the IP address does not change. I guess I need to find out what my ISP policy is for IP addresses?

Thanks

It's often tied to the router's MAC address.

Hi guys, what kind of speed should we expect for Wireless N speed with Padavan build?
I have Asus RT AC51U running Padavan's build nicely. I have 100Mbit/s WAN but when tested with Intel 7260N 2x2 Laptop downlink throughput is capped at 82 Mbit/s, strangely uplink reaches 98 Mbiit/s just fine. Test is done in point blank range (ca 1-2 m laptop <--> router).

Any settings I should have turned off or on?

You're too close. Test at a more normal distance (3 to 10 metres, with minimal obstacles in between).

That's interesting. I didn't know you could be too close. My router is next to the sofa and I wondered why performance could vary.

Normally I work around 4-5m from router (in the same room, no obstruction), so I just tried it the result is the same, at 6 meter the speed even decreases.

Results at 4 m, clear direct sight

The first device is my phone, the second device is laptop, 4 meter away from router, direct sight no obstructions. I don't have 5 GHz DECT cordless phone or anything that might interfere.

It's not that much loss (~8-10 mbps), but I really would like to know why my router cannot sustain my WAN bandwidth.. while in this linked discussion , several people prove their hardware can achieve 90 mbps downlink just fine.

Maybe it's not your router that cannot sustain your ISP speeds? It seems like it is your clients.

Wireless-AC phone (433mbps link speed) is giving similar speed cap too,

and.. this is from tablet with 2x2 antenna (300 mbps link)

Seems the downlink cap is put on place on 82 mbps for some reason regardless of client. :/

Hand held devices are not the clients I would choose to test with. :)
