do not know if related or not but running alpha 3 or the latest and when I click on my computer the network lists nothing. I have 13 devices on my network and they all function and the ones that I have links for are accessible its just they are no longer listed. and only changes made were the router firmware.
any one else seeing this?
thanks

Old issue which I can't reproduce here. Try a different browser, I believe that so far, all reporters were using Firefox.

I have this issue myself and it is very intermitant and present since 380.59.I am pretty sure this is since the introduction of the new set of icons in .59.On my side i found that it was my WdTVlive default icon causing this.
Since a replaced it with another one... problem solved.

Interesting. I have an original WDTV Live (before the Plus model) here, I could dust it off and give it a try, tho it's currently flashed with WDLXTV (the previous project I was involved with before Asuswrt-Merlin ;) ).

I know that people also reported in the past that their PS3 triggered it, but I have never been able to reproduce it with my own PS3.

Only with Firefox

Maybe the issue is similar to what was causing the Apps popup to not work under Firefox (which I fixed in alpha 3). Now that Firefox seems to be the common factor, it means the issue most likely lies in the webui code rather than in the networkmap or web server code.

no not on the router that lists clients fine even the icons for them.
on the computer itself , after the hard drives there is a network listing and it use to show all the devices on the network, now it is empty tho the network devices are accessible there is no list. and the only change has been the firmware to the router. know it is a long shot but all computers on the network no matter which one can not see the others anymore.
and no windows updates or other installs except the firmware.
probably a longshot tho just odd and worked before.

This is because there was a new election on your LAN, and a new device was elected as the browser master - probably one that has a firewall preventing other clients from obtaining the complete list of clients. You can avoid that by configuring the router (or your NAS if you have one) to always win the browser master election.

thank you fixed it to the router and now works as always.wonder what went wrong as nothing added.
but thanks for all you do!
jack

Spent some time with it this weekend, and still couldn't reproduce it even with the WDTV plugged to my LAN.

Shouldn't Router be Master browser by default? Does it matter as long as the winner is one of the always-on devices? A few clients share a folder or two, but they are not always on. I have a NAS, which is always on, but I still thought the router would be a better Master Browser ...

Am I wrong? Am I missing something?

If you have a server or a NAS, you will prefer to have that device be your browser master rather than the router. That's why this option is not enabled by default.

No surprise. This is very intermitant. This icon is only there with FFox.With Edge and IE we dont see this ICON, only an X.
Sorry to hijack

I was able to get the model icon to show here (first test, I was still getting a generic icon). Didn't have any issue even while the model icon (which is probably returned by UPNP) was being shown.

OK, I hear what you say, but I am not sure I understand why it is so.
I will turn off the Master Browser on the router.

I updated to 380-64-a3 monday morning I lost all connections to router 12:15am last night. I'm posting this because I do not believe anything like this as ever happened to my router. I rebooted router when I woke up to restore connections. As an FYI I did not turn on any of the check for updated firmware's. I did flash over the top of 380.63 -2. Here is the section of my log that shows what happened. Router is RT-AC68U.

Flashed today AC88U
No problems.

Noticed the jitter and variable ping is much lower than stock firmware.
Had the latest stock on for 24 hours.
Re booted quite a lot to test on new ip addresses to see if it was the isp.
Merlins rocks in comparison.

Dont get why Asus firmware can be worse in basic aspects compared to Merlins and (AC66U)dd wrt?

Monthly traffic has been working fine here. I reboot my router every few days as I flash new test builds, and my monthly traffic keeps updating normally.

I think Marsi4eg is storing it in RAM. I just now put in a USB thumb drive into the 2.0 port a few days ago and told it to start storing the data there. At the moment my monthly data is empty. Like in the past, I probably will have nothing in the monthly chart until January 1st and then it will just have January. Currently, mine just says "No data in table." for Monthly. I have Dec 3rd-8th in the daily chart.

You're right, I use default setting - to store in RAM. Router shows great stability and long uptimes so I reboot mostly when firmware update is available.
I think it's kind of bad logic to start counting only from 1st day...

Can you tell me where to set it to store on USB not RAM? I've scoured the interface and I know it's probably staring me in the face, but I cannot find the setting anywhere.

Thanks.

Andy.
