Thanks for the info, SirBC. I had a similar experience with one of the NASes I was testing (I forget which...they tend to blur together after awhile). When I went to change test mode from RAID 1 to RAID 5 (RAID migration), I did a migration vs. a reformat. The expansion time was at least 24 hours, but it was for, I think a 1 TB array.

QNAP actions during power failure

Two questions i have about the 509 which i can't find answers to anywhere. If anyone has answers I would really appreciate it.

1. Power failure during rebuild: Does the 509 resume rebuild when power is restored?

2. Power failure during rebuild with UPS present: Can the 509 be configured to safely shutdown and resume rebuild when normal power is restored?
