Hello,

I was wondering if there is any way to restrict access of guest network to an apple TV through airplay. it seems that with the stock firmware even disabling access to intranet, the guest network can still access the apple tv. Does Merlin provide more control on the privileges of the guest network? I am also curious to know how much access to the intranet someone in the guest network may have.

Thanks!

This may well explain it:

"Apple has made yet more improvements to AirPlay in iOS 8 by enabling compatible devices to make direct connections with each other for content streaming. This eliminates AirPlay’s reliance on a Wi-Fi network and fixes one of its biggest limitations.

In previous versions of iOS — including the latest iOS 7.1.1 release — all of your devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network to partake in AirPlay streaming. ". Quoted from:

And if, in Merlin, you set disable Intranet access, that's exactly what you get: no access. A very useful feature.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my question is whether merlin gives more control over the privileges and restrictions to the guest network as compared with the stock firmware.

The Guest implementation is unchanged from Asus's. To go beyond that, you need to manually set up things through scripting.
