HI,
For two days I have installed the new firmware ..Merlin on an RT-AC68U router.
Now I find myself with the problem depicted in the image.
What can be the cause?
Ps. it also occurred before installing the new firmware!
I thank

Are you sure I have to do all this if you have not given any problems for the first two days?
A correct procedure to restore the original firmware without having to re-install all the clients?
Thanks

Reboot the router. Does that fix it?
I restarted the router and changed little, then I turned off the router for 5 min and after that the result is in the images, before the total temperature was 82 C.
Nb. My router is always on.
Thanks

Anything unusual logged in the system logs that might indicate what's going on at the time this happens?
Everytime I upgrade stock firmware on my Asus router, CPU is higher for a while, then it goes back to normal levels.

Unfortunately, after a few minutes he returned with high values !!

With no information how the router is setup and what is running on it all the suggestions to fix it are just a guessing game. You don’t need to change back and forth firmware versions, especially with no router reset after each change. It will make situation just worse and less predictable. Your goal was to use DDNS behind an other router and going back to Asuswrt stock means forget about it.

Nothing important, only that it is in cascade in dmz and I only connected a PC in lan and other wifi devices. If you want some screenshots, I'll send it to you.
Thanks

ssh into the router and run “top -d 1” and look at the first process that is reporting 100% CPU usage (it would be 100% of a single core). This will tell you what exactly is going on.

This is after 2 hours of operation with all clients disconnected from the internet.
Yes, it's abnormal.
But what about top -d 1, i.e.,
Code:
top -d 1
via ssh ?
Please share names residents of first lines...

Sorry, but I don't really understand what you say!
Top - d 1
So SSH into the router and run "top".

" Is there a way to check the paid router? "

Your screenshots provide no additional information. You need to ssh into the router and provide the output of "top -d 1" command.

To be able to run a command like "top", you first have to enable "ssh" (secure shell). You'll find the settings under - "Administration -> System of your router. Next you need to install a terminal emulator. The most popular is probably "Putty". Find out if your Windows version is 32 or 64-bit before downloading.

The actual username and ip-adress will depend on how your router is set up. You will log in via ssh using the same username and password as via the browser or WebGUI.

without having to re-install all the clients,
Curious. what do you mean by the above statement.

With the changes to firmware that you have made, a full reset of the router is never a bad idea when you cannot easily or otherwise explain high CPU usage.

Sorry but stop here!

Yes “it stops there” after you SSH in.

Now type “top” there and hit “Enter”.

A bunch of lines/running processes will fill up your screen. After a while, type “Crtl +C” to stop all of that.

Take a screenshot and show to others.
