I'm having strange issues with my RT-AC66U and Energenie LAN-controlled power strip. The connection is wired.

When connected straight to my modem (Bewan C5200), Energenie works perfectly, i.e. ping is OK, on/off commands are sent promptly etc.

BUT once connected to the Asus, the LAN connection is breaking off, ping is very slow (if connecting at all), packets are lost and the connectivity issues seem to worsen with time (?). Eventually, the power strip is not seen at all by the router. The FW is the latest by Merlin and the router is working without any other issues.

I've spent countless hours trying to tackle the issue with no luck. I've tried all possible settings combinations I can think of in the AC66U's but I have no clue as to what could even be causing this. What's weird is that the power strip used to work OK just a week ago or so, though LAN onnectivity sometimes seemed to be a little flaky.

So in a nutshell: why is the LAN power strip working via the modem but not via the router?

Any ideas are welcome and appreciated because I sorely need the LAN controllability in my media system all the time.

Nevermind, I "solved" it: the Energenie is most obviously broken as now I can't access it even via the Bewan modem (or modem/router). Guess I'll have to buy a new one.
