Hi,

Since version 378.49 I've noticed that my router is very unstable, mainly on high usage of USB connected HDs. I've setup TimeMachine, Transmission and Samba, when it's start backup my Mac on HD, many times the CPU is 100% and the router is rebooting (probably segmentation fault of a kernel panic) and I can't see any log of that trouble.

I don't know what is the problem, but I've just noticed this with 49+ versions of Merlin's firmware. Any idea?

Hi,

Sounds to me like memory shortage: Remeber that you load a lot of functions to your small router and his memory (and CPU) is not build for that workload.

To allow it to work you need to have a swap file (preferable on the disk which is not utilized heavely) to allow the router Linux OS to swap out things when he needs memory.

With kind regards
Joe

PS.: I am fighting a similar issue here - at the end I had to accept the weakness of the router and to reduce the Transmission load.

Hi @joegreat
I've created a 512mb SWAP file right now to test it! Until now seems to be solved, so I hope that solve it definitely. Thanks again.

Hey there I am listening to this thread because I have the problem that every time I reboot my router I have to rewrite entware and transmission.

I have used the newest entware and transmission from github to program my ac66
