Hi
I'm unable to get rates >200Mb/s for WAN to LAN
Am on a 300Mb FTTP connection and am forced to use PPPoE. The ISP router (non-AC HH3 from BT) manages the 300Mb rate fine.
Am currently running stock firmware 3.0.0.4.374_979-gbc8961e
After reading this thread am unsure if this is a hardware or software issue:

Maybe this router will never be able to handle this rate??
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Do you set port forwarding, QoS? Do you enable the HW accelerate?

ASUS does not check its FW with anything higher than 150 Mbps?

It's a shame a pricey router can not manage 200 Mbps+ WAN/LAN.

This is specific to PPPoE. With regular DHCP, I had no trouble pushing mine beyond 600 Mbits (the bottleneck was my test machine sitting on the WAN side of the tested router). Tim's own review also confirms that the router can hit close to gigabit performance.

Hey Zeb,

I am curious if you are still experiencing this issue? I upgraded to the most recent fw (same as yours) a couple of weeks ago and have been experiencing some issues (which I'm surprised went unnoticed).

I ran a speedtest to my ISP earlier today and my wired PC got 7.5Mbps, but my wireless cell phone got 100Mbps (I should be getting 175-250Mbps on my PC). I really am surprised I hadn't noticed this until now.

EDIT: Nevermind, it would seem my ISP is overloading the hub again

I have 300/300 FTTH connection with the RT-AC56U. I can hit that easily with both H/W accel. off or on. My connection is regular FTTH ethernet, not PPPoE.

Hey Hoffman - this is working well for me :

Muchos gracias Merlin!
Sorry for the bump.
I have a FTTH internet connection 300/30Mbps over PPPoE with an Asus AC66U but sometimes it doesn't get past 175Mbps. This happens when I connect my Tp-link Archer T4U AC1200 USB adapter to the 5GHZ band. To solve this problem I have to clear NVRAM and set up everything.
The firmware 3.0.0.4.354 solves this problem. Can someone post this firmware, as it is not available in both Asus and Merlín websites? Thank you in advance.
