I have an RT-AC66U, and I recently upgraded my internet plan from 200 Mbps to 300 Mbps. If I connect the cable modem directly to my PC, I achieve full speed, but if I connect the cable modem to the RT-AC66U and then connect that to the PC, I only get 200 Mbps. Are there any specific settings that would cause the speed to be throttled?

I don't use QoS and I've tested the ethernet cables to make sure they're both capable of reaching 300 Mbps. I don't know what the problem is - if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

Try to clone the MAC of your PC on the WAN interface of your Router.
Maybe your ISP wants to see a specific MAC address.
AC66U can handle 1 Gpbs NAT so 300 Mbps should be no problem.

Do you have Merlin's fw?
If yes, go to http://192.168.1.1/Tools_Sysinfo.asp
Replace your IP if different.Scrool down and you should see something like:

Make sure HW acceleration is Enabled.
If it is not Enabled, disable any IP bandwidth monitoring and logging and reboot your Router.

If you do not have Merlin's fw, I suggest you try it.

What does disabling monitoring do and how does one go about doing it?

Huh. I didn't think Merlin's firmware would make a difference for something like this, but I just installed it and tested again, and now it's working. Thank you for suggesting it.
