New Around Here
I am using Firmware:374.43_2 (Merlin build) on the RT-AC68U.
The router is connected via DMZ to a Huawei 4G router.
I am unable to use any DDNS services as the asus router is detecting the WAN IP: 192.168.1.254.

When i used to use dd-wrt, if i remember correctly, there was a stp button on the basic config page. If this was checked, it would ignore the lan ip and manage to locate the wan ip.

Does anyone know if this is possible using the merlin firmware.
At present, i cannot use the ddns service.

Thank you.

Correction to the above, it is not the stp button. It is the below.

On my previous dd-wrt router which was also connected to the huawei router, i also received the ip address of 192.168.1.254 until i checked the radio button "do not use external ip check" on the ddns page.

Any help please , tried to find but couldn't find any solution , may be some script required to make router show my original WAN ip instead of LAN ip ,my router is connected to internet through dsl modem provided by ISP, if any script is required please help if i use vpn and if i don't use vpn,

appreciate your help in advance

@tokra, check first if you have admin login to your modem. Then check if you an change ur modem to "bridge" mode. If so problem solved, or else you need to talk to your ISP and tell them what you want to achieve but can't with their locked down modem.

Thank you for your kind reply , but i can see my ip through dnsleaktest.

i just saw my asus 68u , in system log this is showing
"watchdog: Hostname/IP mapping error! Restart ddns."

Do you telnet into asus? Can u ifconfig and report the interface with ur public ip?

If u do see, congrats.. problem almost solved. I'm just afraid u won't see. I could be wrong.

Technicall not a problem of ur modem hardware. More depends on your service contract.

It's time to talk to ur isp tech support. They shall be able to help or at least explain the the details of their specific setup.
