RT-AC86U Availability?

I've been looking at purchasing a new ASUS RT-AC86U but it appears to be unavailable, sold out, or backordered at all the usual places one might typically look (Amazon, Newegg, B&H Video, Bestbuy, Office Depot, Staples, etc.). Anyone know what's going on with the availability (or lack thereof) of this device?

I had the same question. I found a refurbished version on Newegg for $140. It also says it includes the standard two year warranty. I ordered it and should get it early next week. Here is the link: https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16833320351

MicroCenter.com has RT-AC86Us available... 2 for $280 after $40 MIR. Beware the state sales/use tax... they overcharged mine. Google your state sales/use tax to know what it is.

Odd. I used Chrome and checked out as a guest with a credit card. Then called them to fix the sales tax overcharge... they charged 9.11% tax when it should have been 4.225%... they have a system problem... maybe try again later today.

I just noticed this, too. This might be why your web order would not go through... they blocked web orders and then got around to revising the page(?). They still list the sale pricing despite the Request Price button. Two for $280 is a very good price, if you can get to a store that has them.

I ordered one from Frys electronics, two day shipping was $11. They had them in stock as of last week, from their online store at least. I was afraid to order because i'd never heard of them, but they have quite a few stores across the US.

Yep... that two 86Us for $280 after $40 MIR was a brief great deal back in March. Now it's two for $360 after $40 MIR in April.

I can confirm they are on sale, $339.99 for two with a $40.00 mail in rebate.
At least now I can say by by to my WRT3200ACM for good!!!!
