Ik heb nog even geduld. Als jij meer weet, dan hoor ik dat graag van je.Hardware version 1.0 runs perfectly here.
I did see that some large online retailers in the Netherlands are currently out of stock so they will probably get the 1.1 version soon.

This router seems half baked at best. No thanks for the price.
He Guys, could you please read the title again. I think it's clear enough.
If I had to choose - neither. Partial explanation why in post #25. I already had enough "fun factor" with RT-AC86U, got rid of it months ago. I don't like manufacturers with aggressive false advertising. For AIO I would go Netgear R7800, Linksys EA8500, TP-Link Archer C2600, ZyXEL NBG6817, etc. all Qualcomm based with OpenWrt support. Basically, specific hardware to run specific software on it. Newer Broadcom based ASUS routers are tied to Asuswrt only.
Or keep my R7000 a while longer ???
Ok, thanks.
Knew about WAN bonding, although that seems more awkward to me than LAN bonding. I've never seen any SoHo endpoint fibre interface with 2 x 1 Gbe output, that also supports 802.3ad.
Will report the statement of ASUS Taiwan back.
@Kees17760, it is nice to go back. But remember how riding a bike was daunting and scary at first, then, the freedom/happiness you had was like no other afterward?
There are no guarantees that the new will be better. But go ahead and take a chance on a scraped knee or elbow, the potential with an RMerlin supported Asus router looks almost limitless right now.
What about the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 or RT-AX92U? Target doesnt carry the RT-AX88U.RT-AX88U is the best Asuswrt-Merlin supported router.

I sold my RT-AC86U thru Ebay and bought an open box RT-AX88U. So many new settings and and my ping dropped significantly for gaming. I'm so impressed and I'm glad I upgraded to this beast.Got my AX88U yesterday. Happy with it!
Again, a big thank you all for your support and wisdom.

One question, I know with a recent fw update for the AC86U, and when using A.QoS....HW acceleration was enabled as well. In the past it used to disabled when using QoS. However, I noticed, on the AX88U, I'm using A.QoS, but HW acceleration is disabled. Is this normal? I'm using latest Merlin fw. I would assume it would be enabled as well.
