I would suggest that all users upgrading to the latest and greatest, double check their settings.

Was using the old 4950 and no problems but noticed a lag today when syncing our servers all at the same time. Decided to check via SPEEDTEST and horrors, was at half speed due to QOS.

For whatever reason, it was set to prioritize GAMING. Either through user error, or settings that stick despite hard resets and NVRAM clearing.

If using QOS, double check your settings. This new firmware running great so far.

It appears ASUS has got off its butt and deployed some talent to its all-powerful RT-AC87U Router!

In my case after upgrading (without resetting), bandwith is going perfect so far, but I'll keep an eye on it.

working perfectly on both my AC87U

Yeap, same here, QOS adaptive settings got back to default (Gaming the first in priority, other custom settings were fine). Apart from this all is working fine here.

In my case QoS stayed the same with VoIP at top

Weird... Well, I cannot exclude that this happened before and I have realized it only now.

Nice find! Loaded, running perfectly so far.

JK has been posting weekly Betas lately for the AC87x platform. He always posts them over in the Hardware Zone Singapore forum under the Maylan review of the RT-AC87U thread. :)

One thing of note:

If you have Dynamc DNS enabled, some of the settings reset. This is not a new issue; I have seen it with past firmwares. My URL was set to "uto" (no quotes), I'm assuming there was a field that was supposed to say Auto or something like that. Reconfigured DDNS and things went right back up, but it's something to know.

It's a bug in recent firmwares. When you backup your router settings, it tries to save the config file without the Asus DDNS stored in it. However Asus's code is broken, and will corrupt that setting.

https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/commit/523bfd041fd1e11e5a473892fbf4bbef24f916f8

I patched it two weeks ago in my own firmware, and I sent Asus the patch this week. Hopefully they will patch it for a future release on their end.

Merlin, now they have included a checkbox to save config and transfer ddns name too.

I know, and it's that feature's that's currently causing the DDNS hostname to become corrupted when you save your settings.
