It may be worthless for you, but for people who don't have 2.5Gbps or faster internet plan (or the desire to upgrade to one) its not such a sticking point of the router. The features and specifications of the RT-AX86U Pro are what they are. For some the router is more than enough for their needs. For others who need the absolute fastest speed (even if some of their network devices will never use it) there may be better routers for their needs. Some just like having the top of the line even if they never use all of the capability it may provide. Others are more practical and buy want they need or can afford for their use case.Just 1 2.5G port which is worthless. So you can't share your 2.5Gbps internet plan with devices on the network.

Anyone know if "AX86U Pro" will still get 3.0.0.6? I noticed sales pages have changed and references to ASUSWRT 5.0 have been removed.
One can install the Beta version of it:Anyone know if "AX86U Pro" will still get 3.0.0.6? I noticed sales pages have changed and references to ASUSWRT 5.0 have been removed.
Right now apparently Asus has only released the 3.0.0.6.x firmware for two routers (RT-AX88U Pro and GT-AX6000), they claim more will be getting it.ASUS RT-AX86U Pro Firmware version 9.0.0.6.102.4856

AsusWRT 6.0 needs new WebUI makeover.
Where do the numbers in ASUSWRT 4.0 5.0 6.0 ... come from? Doesn't make sense comparing with firmware versions.
It's somewhat of an hybrid. The new dashboard is totally new, based on Boostrap and does look really polished, you can even customize some of the displayed widgets, but all the settings pages are the original pages embedded in a wrapper, and using the new light CSS.Asus ExpertWiFi series firmware has a complete GUI refresh.
