Hi all,

I can have this router brand new with 2-years warranty for 216€. Is it worth it?

Upgrading from existing Asus RT-AC66U B1 (SW support for AC routers is at the end and it has very poor OpenVPN speed performance. Other than that, I am very happy with it).

I would like to skip Wifi 6 routers (my candidate was Asus RT-AX88U Pro), as they are on the market for a few years now and the support will be probably shorter than Wifi 7 routers.

Asus China web store lists it at RMB 1799 so your price is pretty good. Street price is likely to be lower, but hey at least you aren't getting shafted as hard.

This is around USD68. We won't see this price in North America. Not even close.

This is around USD222. The same router, but we don't have TP-Link, Huawai, Xiaomi, etc. BE3600-class for $60-70, available in China. Different market, different competition, different prices. Imagine how much the electronics inside cost. Asus still makes some profit, I guess.

From some unknown reason, Multicast is not working on Asus RT-BE86U. Even if I configured everything the same way as it is on my old Asus RT-AC66U B1. I have tried factory reset, with the same result. I will give it one more chance before return.
