New Around Here
Hi experts,

I have a problem and I hope you can help me.
I'm running a RT-N66U in repeater mode.

My main WLAN router is a product of ZTE.
I managed to connect the two devices and when I connect via WLAN of the RT-N66U everything is working fine.
Now I want to connect some devices over the LAN Ports of the RT-N66U.
I get a connection, i can connect to my devices in my LAN (and to the Web GUI of my ZTE router), but I can't access the Internet.
A Firmware Upgrade over the Web GUI of the RT-N66U is also impossible.

Do you have any ideas, what I'm doing wrong?
Why the WLAN connection is working but the LAN connection can't access the internet?
Have I forgotten something? If you need any further information - please just let me know!

In hope of anyone who knows the answer :)
Thank you very much for reading and for helping!!
Kind regards
Gerhard

Upgrade the firmware first to the latest available, try again. This router is End-of-Life for many years. Nothing else you can do and there will be no fixes.

Given just how lame OEM firmware can be, it wouldn't surprise me if the OEM didn't bother to bridge the LAN to the bridge created between the wireless client that connects to the remote AP and the local AP. Because that's what it takes to include the wired LAN ports. They have to be assigned to that same bridge. You can probably confirm it one or the other by dumping the bridging information w/ the following commands (using ssh).

Code:
ifconfig
brctl show

Regardless, once you're NOT using the OEM firmware as your primary router, or it's EOL, you're better off installing third-party firmware such as FT (FreshTomato)(my personal preference) or DD-WRT, where this configuration (and many others) works correctly and is continuously updated.

We'll eventually get there @eibgrad, depending on the results with Asuswrt. If it works well - 3rd party firmware may not be needed.
