My RT-N66u with 3.0.0.4.270.26b won't allow access to the internet upon restart without logging into the router and manually clicking to turn off my internet connection and then turn it back on.

some extra information:
-I have comcast
- the router says that it is connected and will list the external ip
- ipv6 also shows that it is connected
- I have given the router up to 6 hours to see if the connection starts and it still does not allow connection to WAN
-all LAN connections work during the time, so it is just the WAN connection that has issues
-nothing in the logs show any issues with a connection to WAN

Any thoughts as to what could be causing it/how to fix it or how I could make the router refresh the wan connection after it restarts?

Try to isolate the root cause by simplifying your setup - disable IPv6.

I have tried it with ipv6 disabled and have the same result, the router correctly displays my wan ip but no WAN connection is available.

Another note that I just remembered: I also occasionally saw this on my RT-N56u before i switched

is there a way I can just write a script and set it that X amount of time after the router turns on it will just reset the wan connection?

Try setting the DHCP mode to "Normal" if it was on "Aggressive" (on the WAN page). That will force your router to wait 2 minutes before DHCP queries sent to your ISP. However if you do get a WAN IP then I doubt this is related to DHCP. In that case I can't think of anything that could cause the issue you are describing, sorry. It's as if your ISP gave you a WAN IP, but something isn't working right with routing.
