Size Matters

Could some one please tell me the dimensions of the pin that plugs into the router to supply power to the router please. ASUS does not seem to know. Why I need to know is I am in the UK and need to buy a power adapter with a 3 pin connector of which there are many available but very few give the size of the pin.

For you and everyone to have this properly documented, I powered down my RT-N66U to check the power adapter and found as follows:

• Model: AD82000
• Type: 010LF
• Input: 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz, 0.8A
• Output: 19VDC, 1.58A
• Output plug: 2.5 mm diameter, 7 mm long.

Be aware that adapters may be different for different router models, specially the output voltage and maximum output current.

You really need someone with a RT-N56U to confirm your assumption.
What happenend to your old adapter?
If you still have it, you can find the specs on it, look at the output voltage and current, those are the important ones.

Nothing happened to it I am in the UK and the router came with a European plug (2 pin) I need 3 pin.

I have a adapter that converts 2 pin to 3 pin but it sticks out the socket for about 6 inches in all, (adapter and European power block thingy) and is most unstable, every time I accidentally nudge it it falls out So am just trying to source a UK version.

Seems to say that the 2 routers (the 66 and the 56 use the same specs???
